Myofascial Release Therapy

A unique way to get out of pain

What is Myofascial Release treatment?

Poor posture, physical trauma, stress and inflammation can cause the fascia to tighten and restrict movement.

This treatment aims to free restrictions within these connective tissues. It is done without wax or oil and can be applied using one or a combination of indirect, direct, and deep tissue sustained pressure to 'melt' the fascia, allowing for restriction release and ease of tension.

It is often performed with movement. For example, when releasing carpal tunnel syndrome and working the forearm, I might ask you to open and close your hand.

FAQs

  • In simple terms think of your fascia as a second skin that covers you from head to toe & back again (around organs & muscle fibres). If it didn't exist your bones would fall to the floor!

  • Indirect work is subtle and shouldn’t cause discomfort.

Trained by a Rolfer, my direct work can go deeper and may feel intense sometimes, but I always work with you at your preferred level.

  • It’s a hard question to answer, as everyone responds differently. Most people feel some relief after just one session. The number and frequency of sessions depends on how restricted your fascia is and how long it’s been that way. Many of my clients choose monthly maintenance sessions to keep things moving well.

  • Please contact me directly. As I’m self-employed, I have flexibility with my schedule and can provide alternative times that aren’t shown online.
